Using Sarth
Enter the party name, case number, or CNR number in the search box on the homepage or in the Sarth app. Select the court, or leave it as "All Courts" to search everywhere simultaneously. Sarth returns the case status, next hearing date, and recent orders in seconds.
Yes. The eCourts app is an official government tool for checking case status in a single court at a time. Sarth is a comprehensive platform that searches all courts simultaneously, and includes judgment search, bare acts, client management, an AI legal assistant, and hearing reminders. Most lawyers use both — eCourts for official data, Sarth for complete practice management.
Yes, Sarth is free to download on Android and iOS. The free version includes basic case search and status tracking across all courts. The premium subscription unlocks unlimited case tracking, hearing reminders, judgment search, AI legal assistant, and client management features.
Sarth pulls data from official court databases and the National Judicial Data Grid. The information is as accurate as what is published officially, and Sarth refreshes data regularly. Sarth is an information platform — it provides data to inform your decisions, not legal advice.

Which courts and how to search
Sarth covers the Supreme Court of India, all 25 High Courts across every state, District Courts in all states, NCLT and NCLAT (company law tribunals), Consumer Forums at all three levels (District, State, and National), and Debt Recovery Tribunals. This is the most comprehensive court coverage of any legal app in India.
CNR (Case Number Record) is a unique 16-character identifier assigned to every case in the eCourts system. You can find your CNR number on any court notice, order copy, or the eCourts website. It is the fastest and most accurate way to find your exact case on Sarth.
Yes. Sarth lets you search by party name (petitioner or respondent), case number, CNR number, or advocate name. Even partial names work — the search returns all matching cases with their current status and next hearing date.
Sarth's automatic search covers digitised cases — typically from the early 2000s onwards depending on the court. For older, pre-digital cases, Sarth offers the "Find My Case" premium human research service where our expert team manually searches court archives. If we cannot find the case, there is zero charge.
Find My Case service
Old & missing records
Find My Case is a premium human-research service for old, pre-digital, or missing court records. Our expert legal researchers manually search court archives — eCourts, JUDIS, IndianKanoon, court libraries, and physical archives through our network of court correspondents. You can start a request on the Find My Case page.
You pay only if we find the case. Payment is requested only after the case or judgment has been found and delivered to you. If our team cannot find it within the 48-hour turnaround, there is absolutely no charge, and we send a detailed report of every source we searched.
